A challenging suburban site

Designing a garden on a sloping site is always a challenge. This woodland garden adapted well to a sloping backyard site.

This rear garden provided a challenge: a block which sloped not only from the rear fence down towards the house, but also across the block. So the decision was made to create several 'rooms' on different levels. There are enticing views from the house into the small keyhole shaped garden.

The flared stone steps invite the visitor into this surprising and delightful space.
